Where there’s a witch, there’s a way! Where there’s a whole family of them, there’s trouble.

Bay Winchester, editor of Hemlock Cove’s small weekly newspaper, thinks her small hamlet’s upcoming murder mystery weekend is going to be all about fun, food and frolicking. Instead, when another dead body is discovered in Hemlock Cove, things turn into murder, mayhem and migraines (the latter is mostly thanks to her family, of course).

When the murder investigation takes a turn, though, a long-held Hemlock Cove secret is bound to be exposed. If it is, Bay may find herself in trouble – again – and this is the kind of trouble that she may not be able to find a way out of – even with Aunt Tillie’s help.

My Review:

I enjoyed book two of the Wicked Witches of the Midwest series as much as book one, Any Witch Way You Can. (Read review here.) And I love that the cousin’s mom’s have more play in this book, and we get to see them develop a bit more. And once again, Aunt Tillie shines bright with her eccentricities and humor.

We get to see  more love interests for the cousins in this book, which of course, causes family squabbles and shouts of, “You’re dead to me.” Although that sentiment never lasts very long. I’m looking forward to Clove getting a boyfriend, because I have to admit, I think she’s my favorite among the cousins.

The mystery is more complex in this book, partially due to the fact that there are more characters. I thought it was very well written, and the clues that led to the unveiling were very good.

One minor thing, I did notice more editing errors in this book, extra words and such. So I really hope that Lee isn’t trying to get them out so fast that future books suffer from it. I can handle a few errors, but if a book is riddled with them, I just can’t keep reading them, since there are so many books that are well edited. So we shall see….

I am looking forward to reading book three in the series, Witching You Were Here, and hope Lee continues with the wonderful character and story development.
