The Lethal Limit by Margaret Evans kept me turning the page to see what was going to happen next. By keeping the chapters short and jumping from the various WitSec members and the people they were keeping safe, the department offices, and the criminal’s family events, the readers are able to get a good sense of everyone, while Evans kept the action going.
Since the chapters were so short I didn’t find myself skimming, but I felt like the middle could have been tightened up a bit. There was one couple I didn’t feel like we needed to keep hearing about as much because they were just having a good time in bed. And this wasn’t the kind of thriller where you are surprised when you find out about the mole in the department. If you pay even a tiny bit of attention, there’s a very good chance you will know.
I did enjoy how Evans incorporated the twins aspect into the book and would have loved to see even more information about that. Either Evans worked for the WitSec department and is a twin herself, or she’s done a lot of research on both things because the details she incorporated were excellent. And I loved the very end ending, which was perfectly done.
The Lethal Limit was very good and if you enjoy thrillers you’ll want to give it a read.
