This wine was delicious! The wonderful grapefruit and citrus notes, along with cut grass was perfect. It had just a touch of zing at the end to make it memorable. And it had multiple notes to tickle your palate. It was $14.99 and definitely worth the price.
Here’s a description from the Kim Crawford website:
FOOD PAIRINGS
Great to drink with anyone at any time. Pairs brilliantly with fresh oysters, asparagus, lobster, or summer salads.
TASTING NOTES
Colour: Light straw with yellow and green hues.
Aroma: Citrus and tropical fruits backed by characteristic herbaceous notes for which Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is renowned.
Palate: An exuberant wine brimming with juicy acidity and fruit sweetness, providing a balanced flavour profile. The finish is fresh, zesty, and lingering.
Cellar: All these factors have resulted in the plethora of fruit flavours, crisp acidity, and complexity of this stunning wine. Ready for immediate enjoyment, this wine will continue to develop from one to three years.
We’re now able to get Kim Crawford wines here in Alaska, and I agree that they are both delicious and a good value. My wine taste tends to run toawrd reds in general but now that picnic season is approaching, I’ll be adding more crisp whites to my menus.
