My Review:

A co-worker knows I enjoy horror, and told me to watch The Enfield Haunting on Hulu. I never got around to it, so when The Conjuring 2 came out, and I saw that it was about the same hauntings in England, I was optimistic that this would be good. Unfortunately, for me, it was just okay.

I thought I had watched the first Conjuring, but couldn’t remember anything about it. So that’s never a good sign. I should have thought about this before watching the second one. There was nothing wrong with the movie, it just did nothing for me.

Spoilers Ahead, although not really because what I’m going to talk about happens early on in the movie, and it’s just going to be vague.

The evil looking nun was there for jump scares, and to highlight the Church and that the Warrens need to defer to it when getting involved in these cases. I really didn’t see what else she was needed for.

The old man in the chair was a bit creepy. Even before the hauntings began though, I would have put the chair to the curb, and painted the wall behind it, since both were disgusting.

The relationship that the Warrens had with each other was nice, and I believed the love that they felt for each other. And it amused me that they just leave their daughter when they go on these long trips. Where is she? By herself at home, with a relative. To me the daughter seemed like an afterthought.

If you are really into movies about hauntings I would say give this one a watch, but otherwise skip it.
